Dream Catcher
There is always something magical about laying in the grass during the summer and watching the clouds go by. I can remember that feeling as a kid myself after a day of playing outside. There is something amazing about the dreams and aspirations of a little mind.
Well after a week of freezing cold temperatures, the longing for summer feeling has set in and the thought of playing in the grass with my two little ones is something I find myself dreaming about all day. Which, now that I’m thinking about it, maybe this dream catcher was more for me than for them! Anyways, it’s a very easy activity for toddlers. I have a stack of paper plates I use for my crafts that I pulled out to make these. I also grabbed our large crayons, some yarn, a few feathers and some sequences.
The first step was to color in the plate, we used crayons, but you can use markers, colored pencils or paint, pick your favorite medium. My two-year-old hasn’t quite mastered the hole puncher yet but with a little help we punched through the edges of the plates. From there, we ran our yarn looping through each hole, which is great for hand eye coordination! We also hung some yarn from the bottom of the plate to help capture all those dreams while he’s sleeping or simply in his crib [not napping] and day dreaming 😊
