Nava-Stasiluk Conservation Area – Hanover, MA
I’m constantly looking for new trails. I feel like I spend half my night searching for either a craft or hike for the next day (depending on the weather).
Flashback – we are currently in the process of potty training our son and last week he filled up his potty train tracks with stickers which means he got to pick out his very own prize. He also got a Target gift card for Christmas so we went there Friday morning to pick out a brand new excavator toy.
I knew he’d want to go right home to play with his new toy so my best bet to get him to want to go for a hike was to find one close to the store. That’s when I stumbled upon the Nava-Stasiluk conservation area in Hanover. We really enjoyed this trail, and I love any place my kid walks the whole way and doesn’t beg to get carried! There’s a very small parking lot on Center Street in Hanover that I accidentally drove by the first time but when we pulled in we were the only car there.
We started off on the green trail and looped around until we met up with the red trail and encountered some cool things along the way. The trail all together is about a mile and half filled with a bunch of painted rocks (GREAT for toddlers because they search for them literally the whole time) a few bridges and meets up with a few fields. It also abuts the backyards on some houses, one of them has a very impressive tree house that rivals our shed! The best part was the old rail bed , it’s right along the Torrey Brook and cool to think almost 100 years ago there was a train that ran through there.
All in all I’d definitely do this trail again! It was easy to walk and got a high bridge rating from us. I’d recommend it for sure, just not for a stroller.
