Webb Memorial State Park – Weymouth, MA
Stroller friendly!! How hard is it to find stroller friendly walks around here am I right? Believe me, I search, high and low and have only really come across a few that are “jogger” stroller friend, which is what I mean when I say stroller friendly, not those little umbrella strollers that are 100 times easier to transport than the 200 pound joggers!!
Webb Memorial State Park, located in Weymouth is a stroller friendly area with amazing views of Boston, the Boston Harbor Islands, and the Fore River Bridge. The trail here is a mile long, gravel loop that travels around the peninsula and back to the parking lot. There are also benches all along the way to stop and watch the boats puttering in and out of the harbor. The North South River Watershed Association has a lot of information about the history of this location on their website, including some cool facts about the hills here that were created by glaciers 12,000 years ago.
The views though are really quite incredible, they remind me of how pretty Boston is and how much I miss the hustle and the bustle of being in the city sometimes. It feels like a different lifetime now, but a few years ago my office was right in the heart of downtown. I used to drive to the Hingham shipyard and take the MBTA ferry to Rowes Wharf and it was (and still is) the BEST way to travel into the city and I would highly recommend taking advantage of it!! Plus, there’s a bar on board LOL which is a plus especially on a beautiful day where you can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and a yummy adult bevy.
Overall, we’ll definitely come back here for a walk around, between the views and the fact that I can manuever around with the stroller it’s a win win for a morning out with the kids!
