Trace the number dry erase board
Contact paper is the BEST. I honestly think I’ve used three rolls of it over the last year and a half. It’s great for easy sensory boards because all sorts of things stick to it. I’ve made my fair share of them for sure! Just cut off a piece and tape it to the wall, then peel off the protective layer so the sticky part is showing, if you have any construction paper laying around that will stick to the contact paper so just rip off or cut off a couple pieces for playing. I always grab a few of the foam shapes from Michaels along with some felt and they always come in handy for quick contact paper boards!
This activity though was a bit different. I used the contact paper and turned it into a dry erase board, did you know you could do that?? Well it was pretty nifty. I made this board into a number tracing game, but you could easily adjust into letters, or shapes or anything that your child is currently working on. The supplies are minimal and the prep for this craft isn’t much. All you’ll need is a piece of cardboard, the contact paper, some q-tips, a glue gun, and a dry erase marker.
First take your contact paper and peel open the sticky side and stick it to the cardboard. Once that’s complete you’ll need to get your q-tips and glue them onto the board so they resemble numbers. I only made 1-10 because the cardboard wasn’t too big but if you want the activity to last longer just grab a bigger piece! Once all the numbers are set you can give it to your child with the dry erase marker and they’ll be ready to play!
It was super cute and great practice on how to write the numbers! Plus he really enjoyed playing with it for a while since he was so amused with wiping the marked off the board!
