Jacobs Pond Conservation Area – Norwell, MA
I’ve driven by Jacobs Pond at least a million times living on the Shore Shore, but it wasn’t until the fall when we decided to actually stop! And I’m so glad we did! What a great spot for a walk in the woods and a picnic. This is definitely not a walk you can do with your stroller (so many roots) so have a baby carrier ready. I had both my (at the time) 2 year old and 10 month old and the breath of fresh air was good for everyone.
I wanted to include the hikes we’ve accomplished on my blog because we have gone on so many during this quarantine it would be a shame not to share them! There are a few things I look at about a trail before venturing out, the length and difficulty of course, but those aren’t my main interests. It’s the number of bridges and possibility of bringing a stroller.
My son is in LOVE with bridges. So, finding trails that have a bridge is always a plus, which made me decide that in all my hiking blogs I’ll include a bridge rating! That way, incase your little one in tow also loves bridges, you’ll know before heading out ๐ The bridge at Jacobs Pond is pretty cool because it connects to a little island. The island has some picnic tables and benches, along with a little fire pit area. It’s the only one we found though so this definitely doesn’t get a high bridge rating.
Overall though, great place to stop for a picnic, and if your lucky and it’s the right season, you might even be able to stop across the street at the Cross Street Flower Farm for a fresh bouquet of their beautiful flowers.
