Today is definitely the pick of the week weather wise! Today, weather wise, is the nicest day of the year in our area, it’s almost 70 degrees for the first time since 2020 and I am in heaven. I read about the Thaddeus Chandler Sanctuary on the North South Watershed website a while back so we drove by to check it out after we walked along the O’Neill Farm last week. This past Saturday we decided to hike the Sanctuary before the rain moved in and it was a pretty nice, although at times pretty poorly marked trail. I’m not sure if the trails are in the process of being reworked but there were a lot of different colored decals throughout the location and not a lot of information on them on the AllTrails or town website. This morning we visited the O’Neill Dairy Farm in Duxbury, Ma after I read about the location last night during my search for a fun place to take the kids. The Dairy Farm is the one of the oldest and also last working dairy farms on the South Shore. It originally started operations in the 1700s and although the buildings have been moved and rebuilt , you’ll see the old building foundation from the parking lot, it still produces dairy products. This morning we, well really me because my kids only ever answer “the beach” when I ask them where they want to go, decided to go to Cornhill Woodlands for our hike. There’s a great little (secret so don’t tell) bench at the end of Cornhill Lane in Marshfield that is a perfect quiet spot to watch the birds in the marsh or the kayakers and boaters in the summer.
