North Conway, NH
If you follow along with my blog or Instagram account (@humarockmom) you know we just returned from North Conway, NH about a week ago! Both my husband and myself grew up going to North Conway, or the surrounding areas when we were little on vacation and I remember our trips up to Bretton Woods like they were yesterday. We’re so excited to get to share the experiences our parents shared with us with our kids. Over the last year we’ve been fortunate to visit North Conway in the Summer, Fall and Winter and each season has something unique to offer. My amazingly generous bestie has let us use her condo…

Soule Homestead Education Center – Middleboro, MA
I swear there was a time this summer I visited every farm within an hour of us. In July we visited the Soule Homestead Farm in Middleboro and although it was a million degrees it was pretty cool and had different animals than we were used to seeing. There were goats here, that were so silly and got really up close and personal with photobombing our selfies. There’s also some baby goats that you can feed, I believe thanks to COVID you need a reservation though, plus you also probably want to check that’s still happening in the winter. We saw pigs, chickens and some livestock, that really scared the…

Holly Hill Farm – Cohasset, MA
If you follow me on Instagram you’ve seen me rave about Holly Hill Farm in Cohasset. I just love it there! It’s the perfect place to visit with my two kids and we’ve participated in so many of their activities. They have a few different animals, Benji the Sicilian Donkey, Pumpkin the Pony, three goats and a whole bunch of chickens and roosters. We always stop by to say hello to them on a day we aren’t exploring nature (or even when we are, Wheelwright Park is right down the street, check out our visit to the trail on the Hiking & Trails section of my blog) They have other…

Dalby Farms – Scituate, MA
I’ve lived in and around Marshfield and Humarock basically my whole life and I’m embarrassed to say I’d never been to Dalby Farm in Scituate before and what a shame! It is such a cute little family farm!! You can see on their website that COVID has had such a devastating impact on their business like so many other places, but they offer Family Animal Encounters and I would definitely recommend it for kids! Our Family Animal Encounter at Dalby Farm was for 30 minutes where we walked around and saw all the farm animals. They do require reservations so make sure you look at their website first. They have…
