Being a mom to a child with special needs has chan

Being a mom to a child with special needs has changed my perspective in life. It teaches you that how you choose to respond to the world around you has such an impact. From the moment I became a mom I knew I would need to advocate for my children. And being lucky enough to have a happy and healthy son, beautiful daughter and little man with special needs means I will continue to push forward so much harder.

Trying to raise kids to be kind and smart and respectful of people regardless of what they look like, believe or can do is so important. Especially when someone in charge spews so much hate and openly mocks individuals with special needs. It’s so much more than politics for me, it’s also about being a good human being and role model. It hurts my soul hearing people say they love Benny when their actions don’t support it. But that’s why I am so determined as I wake up today more than ever to ensure we continue to share the beauty in the disability community and Benny has every opportunity in the world he deserves💙💛

Today would have been Bruschi’s 17th birthday. It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 3 years without him. If you’ve never experienced the love and companionship from a dog like Bru you may not understand why that paw shaped hole in my heart aches so badly today. For years Bruschi was quite literally everything to me. So on a day I may have had more tears than smiles it’s important to remind myself to be kind to my feelings. And to remind others to just be kind in general because you never truly know what someone else is going through or what oversize fluff ball they may be missing. 🌈💔🐾

We had to up our Trunk or Treat game this year and add some hands on experiences. These two big kids had a blast making green spaghetti guts and jello blood. And mommy learned that 350 pieces of candy is not nearly enough but 150 pencils is way too many! 🤣🤣
